Supporting Loved Ones of Individuals with OCD & Anxiety

Do you ever wonder how to truly help your loved one with OCD or anxiety—without accidentally making things worse?

OCD and anxiety don’t just affect the individual—they affect everyone close to them. At Beautiful Minds Therapy & Consulting, LLC., I provide specialized virtual therapy sessions for current clients and their support system. These sessions are designed to help families, partners, and loved ones understand OCD and anxiety, reduce enabling behaviors, and learn how to support recovery without reinforcing symptoms.

Why Involve Support Systems?

Research shows that recovery from OCD and anxiety improves when support systems are actively involved. Unfortunately, many well-intentioned actions—such as reassurance or helping someone avoid distress—can unintentionally make symptoms stronger. That’s why therapy for support systems is essential.

Common challenges include:

  • Constant reassurance or accommodation that increases stress.
  • Confusion about what helps versus what enables OCD.
  • Burnout, guilt, or conflict in relationships
  • Difficulty setting and keeping healthy boundaries.

What These Sessions Look Like

  • Format: Virtual therapy sessions with the client and their chosen support person together.
  • Focus: Education on OCD/anxiety cycles, reducing accommodation, and building supportive communication.
  • Strategies: Tools for boundaries, encouragement, and healthier family dynamics.

Session Details

  • Length: 53 minutes
  • Cost: $300 per session
  • Payment: Private pay only (not billable to insurance due to coverage limitations for joint sessions of this nature)
  • Availability: For current clients only.

Why This Matters

With the right tools, support people can become active allies in recovery, helping their loved one reduce symptoms while maintaining their own emotional health.

Untangle the noise, embrace the uncertainty, together.
